Prosecution said when Quaye reached the traffic light on the intersection, a policeman at post became suspicious and signalled him to stop but Quaye ignored him and sped off. A Good Samaritan offered his vehicle to the policeman who chased Quaye and Gaise but unfortunately the accused persons ran into a saloon car at Darkuman Official Town.
Prosecution said the two jumped out of the car and took to their heels but they were apprehended and when their vehicle was searched two goats and a sheep, tied with ropes were found in the booth.
Prosecution said investigation showed that the accused had travelled to Koforidua to steal the animals but luck ran out on them when the policeman signalled them to stop. Quaye had no driving licence and there was no insurance cover and road worthy certificate on the car.
