Songwriter, singer and composer, Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah, known in the showbiz circles as Akwaboah has revealed the reason behind his song “I Do Love You” saying it was his personal problem.
Speaking on showbiz review on Hitz FM on Valentine’s Day, he said “I was inspired to write the song because of the problem I had with proposing to this particular lady”.
He said “Way back in Kumasi I was in love with a girl in school and I didn’t know how to tell her. She lived behind my house, she is a very beautiful girl and she became my friend eventually.
“…….. I saw someone date her and they broke up…..I still couldn’t tell her because I didn’t have that courage to propose” he noted.
He continued that “as a song writer your five senses must work during conversations with people and occurrences in life and also your love to help compose songs”.
Akwaboah first announced his trademark in 2009 by writing songs like “Daa Ke Daa” for Becca and “Ayeyi Ndwom” for DSP Kofi Sarpong and in 2012 pulled another magic in writing “Best in me” for Efya.
Both songs won their respective artiste awards at the 2010 Ghana Music Awards with Akwaboah subsequently being adjudged the Song Writer for the year 2010 for Daa Ke Daa.
Akwaboah as a musician came out in 2013 when he released his song ‘I Do Love You’ and has since then been on the music scene.
