Mrs Joyce Wereko-Brobby, Chairperson of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, on Friday called for radio and television programmes that would change the attitude of the people.
She said the expansion of the airways had brought with it the need for programmes, especially television programmes that would also change the attitude of people.
Mrs Wereko-Brobby gave the advice at the second biennial conference of the Ghana Association of Past Broadcaster (GAPB) of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in Accra.
She said a lot of radio stations were springing up and past broadcasters could assist in training the young broadcasters.
Mrs Wereko-Brobby urged journalists to make use of the Internet to keep themselves abreast with events and also to enhance their knowledge and experience.
She said the world today was a digital one and the association needed to equip itself with such facilities in order not to be sidelined, adding a true broadcaster was one who operates with "village equipment and reached everyone".
She appealed to members to assist the GBC with their knowledge to help push it into the communication world.
Mrs Gifty Ama Asantewaa Ayeh, a representative of the National Media Commission (NMC), urged management of the GBC to always fall on the old broadcasters to help train the young ones.
