Bawku, (U/E), July 14, GNA - A Bawku Circuit Court has sentenced an estranged wife of Imoro Ayarna, 81, a renowned Politician, to four months' imprisonment for pulling the male organ of the old man. A fine of 100,000 cedis was also imposed on Sadia Ali, the Estranged Wife, or in default, serve an additional 30 days in prison. Both sentences are to run concurrently.

Sadia 31, pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting, Police Detective Sergeant Yiremeyi, told the court, presided over by Mr Justice Jacob Boon, that, in March this year, Mr Ayarna and Sadia, who had been married for some years, got separated and she left her matrimonial home.

Detective Sergeant Yiremeyi said after two months had elapsed, Sadia called at the Mr Ayarna's house, shouting at the top of her voice inquiring about her daughter, Ramatu.

The Prosecutor said Mr Ayarna accosted Sadia at the entrance of the house, and inquired from her why she wanted to see Ramatu, to which she replied that Ramatu had allegedly made unsavoury remarks about her in town, "so she has come to kill her".

The Prosecutor said Mr Ayarna tried to prevent Sadia from entering the house and this resulted in scuffle "during which, Sadia took advantage of Ayarna's old age and pulled his male organ, which she had adored and treasured in the past".

Detective Sergeant Yiremeyi said Ayarna started wailing and this attracted the attention of co-tenants, who went to his rescue. He later lodged a complaint at the Police Station.

Two Witnesses, who allegedly connived with Sadia to tell lies to the Court, have been charged with perjury for lying under oath. They would be put before court soon.
