The much-anticipated talk show designed to educate the general public on the operation of the law and the constitution of the Republic of Ghana, Law Express, aired on Sunday, December 13, 2015, on Metro TV.

After the airing of the first episode, several high profiled persons took to social media and other platforms to give positive reviews of the show. Notable amongst them are multiple award winning Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame and ace Ghanaian journalist, Kwesi Pratt. Just after the show, Okyeame Kwame tweeted “I’m following like Peter, Paul and John. I have enjoyed this tv show”.

In the episode, moderator of the show, Nuhela Seidu and her panel discussed the subject “Breach of Promise To Marry”, highlighting the position of the law, what could constitute a “Breach of Promise To Marry” and the opportunities for an aggrieved person in such a scenario within the framework of the law.

The panel comprised of Fredericka Obeng-Ahwireng, a lecturer at the Ghana School of law and author of the book “Contemporary Principles of Family Law In Ghana” as well as Apanga Lamtig, a private legal practitioner with experience in commercial, property and criminal litigation.

Members of the general public contributed to the subject through a recorded vox pop. Some indicated their readiness to visit local fetish doctors to inflict spiritual illness to ease their pain rather than going to the courts. Others also said they would take back any item they have bought for the person who breaches a promise to marry them and further seek compensation.

Law Express continues this and every Sunday between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Metro TV with the panel discussing various legal issues in an easy to understand manner.
