Airtel Ghana and TRACE have announced that entries for the biggest music talent search and competition in Africa, Airtel TRACE Music Star will end on April 22, 2016.

The second season of the innovative music competition was launched on 26th February this year, officially opening up the lines for participants to make their music entries to the short code 533.

As the call-in stage comes to an end, the top five entries will be selected by mega star judges Becca and Reggie Rockstone as well as popular radio personality Sammy Forson.

The shortlisted contestants will compete for a national winner who will represent Ghana and contend against representatives from other African countries at the Grand Finale in Nigeria.

After outdooring the second edition of the highly patronized music contest, Airtel Ghana and TRACE toured the country with the Airtel Trace Music Star Train to spread the euphoria in the major cities and engage target audience.

Cornelius Kakrabah Head of Brands & Marketing Communications at Airtel Ghana said, “The second season of Airtel TRACE Music Star has been very successful so far. The number of entries received and the general feedback from the public has been positive. In appreciation of this, we instituted the weekly prizes for successful entrants and highest voters.

At the end of every week a winner is picked either for ‘the most original voice’ or ‘the best entry for the week’ taking into consideration the pitch, quality and range of voice and expressiveness.

The next stage will see the outdooring of the top 5 entries for customers and the general public to vote for their favourite contestants commencing the first week of May. If you haven’t submitted an entry yet, call 533, sing and you could be the next biggest music star in Ghana and on the continent.

Airtel Trace Music Star is a breakthrough music competition which, has simplified the otherwise tedious auditioning processes that typifies most music competitions.

All prospective participants need to do is to simply call the short code 533, record a song and stand the chance of winning a life-changing contract with a record label, a mentorship programme with American singer-songwriter Keri Hilson in Atlanta and worldwide media exposure through various TRACE’s platforms.
