Slip Music boss, Mark Okraku-Mantey has stated that if he were managing Hamamat, the former Miss Malaika winner would not have apologised for her outfit at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

Hamamat was scolded by a section of Ghanaians for the dress she wore at the VGMAs as they thought it was too revealing.

She subsequently apologised for what she described as ‘wardrobe malfunction’.

“I will like to apologize for yesterday’s wardrobe malfunction, I agree the dress was sexy but my intentions was very far from how it was portrayed. To @iamkaakaa and mz4lawsn your brand means a lot me and I am sorry for what it looked like. # To err is human, to forgive divine definition. Thank you all so much for all your kind words,” she posted on Instagram.

But making a submission on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Okraku-Mantey who has managed and produced several artistes said he saw nothing wrong with what Hamamat wore on the night. He opined that it was part of showbiz, adding that the beauty queen would not have apologised if he were her manager.

“I don’t know why [people] are too hard on Hamamat…. Every profession and its outfit. There is a degree of madness in fashion. If you don’t understand someone’s career, you will judge them wrongly. I don’t have a problem with Hamamat, maybe because of where I’m coming from… Let’s not be too hard on her… If I were managing Hamamat, we wouldn’t have apologised,” he told host KMJ.

Meanwhile, actress, Lydia Forson who seemed peeved with attacks on Hamamat has asked her not to apologise to anyone who does not feed her on any occasion.

“If she wants to apologize to anyone, let it be because she strongly believes she did something wrong at that event and not because she’s being coerced to by trolls… half the nig**z complaining are probably jerking of over this picture and the women are probably angry they weren’t daring enough to pull it off.

“But my dear Hamamat next time stand by what you wear (cuz I know you were feeling yourself that night and were well aware of the side boob when you picked out the dress) or own that you didn’t get it right.

Either way, it’s part of the Showbiz culture, no big deal. But NEVER apologize to people who don’t feed you like you’re some little girl with no brains. It defeats the purpose of the fight against oppression of women and gives power to underserving trolls who will continue to shame women by imploring these methods,” portions of her post read.
