Chapter One Classics, formerly known as Chapter One Clothing Line has established itself as one of the biggest clothing line in Ghana providing costumes for lots of celebrities and public figures.

The brain behind Chapter One Classics, Leslie Wiredu has recently stated that the choice of clothing for Television personalities is sometimes out of place. He blamed this shortcoming on the refusal of television stations to pay critical attention to the costuming of their presenters.

‘Television stations should pay particular attention to costuming of the presenters because sometimes what they put on TV is so wrong.’

In an interview with Real Eugene on the ‘Xclusive Chat’ segment of The Big X Show on Radio Univers, Leslie Wiredu called for proper structures which will check the costume of TV personalities to prevent incidents such as wardrobe malfunction before they go on set.

Chapter One Classics gained prominence as a result of their partnership with several TV personalities by providing clothing for these personalities at no cost. However, the C.E.O disclosed that this venture initially incurred losses for his company.

‘I made huge losses. My people (customers) will give me fabric instead of making those clothes for them; I’ll rather make it for the presenters because I wanted to make a statement in my clothes. It is very very tough’

The fashion designer expressed his joy for being mentored by the late Kofi Ansah, one of the greatest designers of our time.

According to the C.E.O of Chapter One Classics, the late Kofi Ansah taught him how to make money out of designing clothes. He was privileged to have worked with Kofi Ansah.

Leslie Wiredu was recently in the news after the outfit he designed for 2016 VGMA New Artiste of the Year; Kofi Kinaata for his VGMA performance went viral on social media.

The C.E.O has worked with personalities such as Nigeria’s Davido and Ghanaian icons such Daniel Clarke, George Quaye, Sammy Flex, Andy Dosty among others.
