Singer/songwriter, Bisa Kdei has been often criticized for his supposed lacklustre stage performance since he burst onto the music scene about five years ago.

It had seemed the award-winning musician was taking the criticism in his stride but he has now made it known that it has really been getting to him.

According to Bisa Kdei, known for massive hits like Mansa and Brother Brother, Ghanaian music lovers have not been fair to him in their fault-finding because he knows he is a good performer.

“The perception that I’m not a good performer appears to have been accepted by many Ghanaian music lovers.

“I think I should rather be praised for contributing so much to the rejuvenation of Highlife and not be put down with disparaging comments,” he told Showbiz in an interview last week.

Despite being talked down as a bad performer, Bisa said no one has been able to point out to him what supposedly makes his stage shows boring.

He explained that he had asked several industry players to point out his shortcomings on stage but none has so far been able to say exactly what makes him a bad performer.

“It is about time Ghanaians stopped this kind of criticism and supported the good work I am doing. It is not easy for a young artiste to break through with Highlife music,” he stated.

Known for popular songs such as Azonto Ghost, Give It To Baba, Metanfo andOdo Carpenter, Bisa who is currently promoting his latest song, Jwe, asked what music lovers wanted him to do about his stage performance.

“Apart from performing my hit songs, I come on stage with dancers who do smart choreographed stuff and I try as much as possible to entertain my fans. What else do Ghanaians want me to do? ” he asked.

Touching on what he had in store for Ghanaians for the rest of the year, he said, “The rest of the year is going to be very busy because I have exciting songs the market to be followed by an album. I thank everyone for their support last year and I promise to continue doing my best” he added.

Kdei, who was rumoured to be dating Afro-pop singer, Becca said they only came together to collaborate on a song.

“People thought we were dating but it was not so. In fact, I am single and ready to mingle,” he revealed.
