In recent times, many glamour actors have joined their colleagues in the local movie industry mostly called Kumawood to shoot films in the local dialect, Twi.
Renowned actors like Van Vicker, Juliet Ibrahim, Prince David Osei, Bismark The Joke among others in the past days have been to Kumasi to shoot Kumawood movies.
Actor John Dumelo has expressed his willingness to join the local movie industry due to his passion and love for them but an enemy is preventing him from achieving this dream.
According to him, producers from Kumawood who approached him for his services never returned after he quoted his charges. He told Bola Ray on Starr FM that the producers from the local movie industry complain that his charges are high.
When asked if their claim is true, the actor who failed to give figures of the amount as a price for his service rendered said as far as he is concerned, it is normal.
He later hailed Kumawood movie makers for their work but advised them to invest more into their production.
“I think it's (Kumawood movie) fantastic. I think they are creating movies for a certain market and obviously it’s working for them. What they are doing is OK. What they need to do is to probably invest more into the quality of production. As for the script-writing and the content I think they have it but they should just invest more in the quality of production and that’s it.” the actor told Bola Ray.
