As part of efforts to educate and expose the public to the manifestos of the various political parties to ensure issue-based voting in the December 7 elections, e.TV Ghana, has launched a dialogue-based campaign dubbed, ‘Manifesto Dialogues’.

Manifesto Dialogues is an audience-TV interactive program geared towards voter education and detailed discussion of political party manifestos for the electorate to understand in order to make an informed choice in the 2016 elections.

Speaking at the launch, CEO of Global Media Alliance Broadcast Company, operators of e.TV, YFM and Happy FM, Akwasi Agyeman, said, “the media plays a very important role during such critical periods in our democratic process, hence this initiative by e.TV Ghana to support the process by assisting voters to understand the various issues being espoused by the parties.

'Manifesto Dialogues' is very distinct from other programs since we will delve into specific issues like health, sanitation, education, among others, that affect the basic well-being of the ordinary Ghanaian.’’

He added that “our main focus as e.TV is to move the conversation away from personalities, politics of insult and other peripheral issues to conversations that will benefit the public even after the elections.’’

According to Mr Agyeman, e.TV will be taking the whole political process to the voters in the various communities across the country.

Explaining the campaign process, the News Editor of e.TV Ghana, Fati Shaibu Ali, said, the Manifesto Dialogues will cover 6 regions and 8 different sectors - economy, Health, Governance, job creation/unemployment, education, fisheries, agriculture, industry and energy.

The Dialogues which will be funded by the NED Fund, will be moderated by Host of State of the Nation on e.TV Ghana, Kwame Gyan and Host of e.TV Breakfast TV, Bismark Brown.
