Final funeral rites of the late James Amo Appiah has been scheduled for the 5th of November 2016 in Accra.

The owner of Accra-based Atlantis radio passed away Saturday September 3.

James Appiah who was affectionately called Big J was among one of the few Ghanaians who established private radio station and one thing that sets his brand apart from others was his solely adult listening concept which saw him developing concepts for that market.

In a facebook post announcing the final funeral rights, Kwesi Owusu wrote:

"Its hard but finally we have to say farewell to Big J. The art of radio comunications reveberated in your burning fingers like brisk fontomfrom messages that predated the tuner as we know it.. A true pioneer and visionary who walked where angels feared to tip toe. Thanks for your passionate zeal for life and wishing that we always created a better world.."
