Otwinoko
Sensational Radio Presenter, Lindsford Kwabena Asare, popularly known as “Otwinoko” threw listeners of Abusua FM into a state of anxiety when he identified his detractors in the radio industry and circumstances that led to his long absence from radio airwaves.
The revered host of social program on radio accused his former colleagues at Fox FM and later Nyhira FM of contributing to his health struggles over the years and predicament working as a broadcaster.
Otwinoko was speaking to host of Abusua Mmre, Mr. Katah in an exclusive interview on his long silence from radio and health challenges he suffered.
He said some of them plotted fetish priests against him. “They practiced occultism when I used to work with them in Kumasi.”
“These are people I single handedly picked and brought into radio work. I catered for them and personally paid their salaries for over two years until the stations decided to formalise their status as regular workers.”
“I even paid their school fees, I paid their house rents, I bought boxer shorts and singlet for them, I did everything including food” he added.
Linsford Kwabena Asare identified one Yaw Poku at Fante Newtown as the lead character among those that physically and spiritually worked against him.
Otwinoko became the toast of many radio listeners because of the dexterity with which he hosts his program.
He has worked for three different radio stations in the Kumasi metropolis. Linsford Kwabena Asare shot to fame at Mercury 91.5 FM, before he was poached under controversial circumstances by the Multimedia Group, where he worked for Nyira 104.5FM.
Otwinoko worked for the Multimedia Group for sometime, and later moved to the F-Giant Broadcasting Limited, owners of FOX 97.9 FM in Kumasi and now at Hot FM in Accra.
Sources reveal Otwinoko could be on his way to Kumasi based Abusua 96.5 FM.
