Reynold Kwame Empeh, known in showbiz circles as‘Kwame Bee’, has said that no disc jockey (DJ) up for nomination in this year’s ‘Rush Ghana DJ Awards’ can compete with him, so he is certain of winning the award hands-down.

In an interview with Daily Heritage, the 2015 ‘Record Promoter of the Year’ said he is the best nominee in the category.

According to the host of the late afternoon drive show ‘Di Wu Lane Mu’ on Accra-based radio, Kasapa 102.5 FM, no DJ deserves the award except him.

“Once you see my name in the category, it means Kwame Bee is the winner.

“The truth is that nobody deserves the awards better than me. If you check the names in the category, it’s a done deal. It’s just normal to put other names, but at the end of the day, the name that will come up as the best is Kwame Bee. No two ways about that,” he said.

Aside hosting ‘Di Wu Lane Mu’ on Kasapa 102.5 FM, which airs from Monday to Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Kwame Bee is a voice-over artiste.

Kwame Bee is competing in the ‘Hiplife DJ of the Year’ category with DJ Gadaffi (Citi FM), DJ Pho (Rainbow Radio), DJ Chiefaro (Jem FM), DJ Fletcher (OK FM), DJ Mic Smith (Y FM), DJ Bayayoko (Accra FM), DJ Slim (Y FM) and Papa Bills (Adom FM).

While in the ‘Best Music Promoter of the Year’ category, he stood against DJ Advicer (Happy FM), DJ Phletch (Peace FM), Jerry Justice (Adom FM), Ike the Unpredictable (Abusua FM), Kwame Bee (Kasapa FM), DJ X (Royal FM), Sammy Forson (Live FM), DJ Bakayoko (Accra FM) and DJ Police (Bryte FM).

Kwame Bee is nominated in two categories of the upcoming award ‘Hiplife DJ of the Year’ and ‘Best Music Promoter of the Year’.

The awards scheme highlights contributions made by Ghanaian DJs who have distributed and promoted music on radio, endorsing and putting songs out to be enjoyed by the masses.

The nominations were unveiled at a colourful ceremony on Friday, March 24, 2017, at the MJ Grand Hotel in Accra.

Final awards are slated for Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Silver Star Towers in Accra.
