The second edition of this year
The second edition of this year’s Akwambo Music Festival is slated for August 18, 2017 at the Swedru Park in the Central Region.
The organisers of the show have promised nothing but the best.
The maiden edition was headlined by Stonebwoy who thrilled patrons with good music.
In an interview with Weekend Today, Chief Executive Officer of Perfect Promotion, organisers of the event, Mr. Brown indicated that, this year’s edition will have two Ghanaian artistes and one Nigerian.
According to him, Akwambo festival which is celebrated by the people of Swedru has gained enough grounds hence his outfit’s decision to partner with the event.
He disclosed that that Ebony, Medikal and award winning dancehall artiste Patoranking will be performing at the event.
He assured patrons of good security on the night, and promised nothing but a great show.
The people of Agona in the Central Region celebrate the Akwambo festival literally meaning “path-clearing”.
The Asafo companies weed footpaths leading to the streams or rivers, farms and other communal places, as well as paths, which lead to shrines.
