Accra, May 31, GNA - A Circuit Court in Accra on Monday remanded into prison custody a 24-year old Draughtsman for defiling a nine-year-old at a cemetery in Nungua.

Francis Ansah pleaded not guilty to defilement before the Court chaired by Mr Kwadwo Owusu.

He is to reappear on June 14.

The case of the Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Emmanuel T. Boison was that the victim lived with her parents at Nungua in Accra. Ansah also resides in the same area.

On May 25 at about 1400 hours the victim and her friend called Momo went to Ansah's house on an errand.

Prosecution said Ansah engaged the victim and her friend in conversation. Later the victim's friend left unceremoniously. Ansah then lured the victim to the Nungua cemetery, which was about a hundred metres away from his house and defiled her. Prosecution said soon after the act, the victim began bleeding and she reported the matter to her mother, who also reported it to the Police. 31 May 04
