Ghana’s youngest disk jockey, Erica Tandoh, better known as DJ Switch has called on stakeholders to actively fight and put and end to child labour in the country.

The season 8 winner of TV3's Talented Kidz competition said, the generation today should make protecting children in such situations a priority as they represent the country's future.

She said, “Child labour is of a great concern to humanity. Children are the future leaders of this country and it, therefore, has become imperative for this generation to protect them so that they don’t face the wrath of society”.

She further expressed her disappointment in parents who subject their children to child labour instead of working to take care of them.

“It is against this background that international organisations such as UN, AU and ECOWAS have all vehemently spoken against child labour. Remember the future of the child starts from today,” she noted.

She added, “it is my humble appeal that all stakeholders such as the media, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Ministry of Education, parents and teachers help to stop child labour”.

DJ Switch made this appeal when she performed at Promo House’s ‘Our Day with Lil Win’ at the Tema Sports stadium.
