Tue, 27 Jul 2004 Source: Chronicle

Koforidua -- Four General police recruits out of the 171, who passed out at the Koforidua Police Training School on July 16, collapsed during the parade.
The general recruits began collapsing after they had been taken through rifle drilling exercises and were standing in review order to be addressed by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of operations, Mr. P.K. Acheampong.
The incident nearly marred the parade after they had earned a lot of applause from Senior Police Staff, politicians, chiefs, their parents and the press with their rhytmic footsteps throughout the march past.
