Tema native, Yaa Pono is an unquestionable model in contemporary GH rap. King of the underground for many years, he now sits indispensable in mainstream Ghanaian hiphop.
Here is his new offering for 2018, titled “Fake” — a direct dig at hypocrites of all forms. Accompanying visuals to the flaming joint were directed by Prince Ibam.
Author of multiple hits and the Faster than Gods album (2017), the Uptown Energy act is widely regarded “king of the underground”, and is deemed among the most versatile acts from these parts, expertly blending a range of elements: hiphop, highlife, hip hop, dancehall and Afrobeats.
Come March 24 at the West Hills Mall, he assembles top colleagues including Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, King Ayisoba, Edem, Kwaw Kese, Tinny, and a host of others in the “Ponobiom Live in Concert (faster than gods edition)”.
