Popular Ghanaian media personality Akumaa Mama Zimbi has revealed her chequered experience in the media field stating that it hasn’t been all rosy as some people think as she in the past turned the offices of Adom FM into her sleeping place for more than one year.
According to her, those were the earlier days of her radio career where she had to go through the mill to gain the nearly 20 years of experience she has now.
“In the year 2000 Adom FM had just started and I was doing almost everything, being at the front desk, going to court, doing the mid-morning and all that, I slept at the office for more than one year. Luckily I had Rev. Gabriel Ansah and Rev. Owusu Ansah who when they came to work at dawn woke me up to go and bath and prepare for the day’s work. People don’t know my story, they only know my name.” She told Bola Ray on Starr Chart on Starr FM Wednesday.
Describing herself as one of that radio station’s pioneers, Akumaa Mama Zimbi said she didn’t attain her height in the media industry by sudden flight as she determined and worked hard to make it in that field of endeavour.
“The discipline was there, the determination was there, the can do will was there. I knew where I was coming from, so body, soul and mind and the zeal was there so I was ready to learn.”
