Award-winning broadcast Journalist with EIB Network’s Starr FM, Kennedy Mornah has joined the stables of MyNewsGH.com as head of the Business Desk.

Mr. Mornah, who won the Reporter of the Year Award at the Ghana Shippers Awards last year, formally resigned from EIB network on the 29th of May 2018 after nearly 3 years with the EIB Brand.

Having developed the passion for reporting and as a way of broadening his understanding of the industry, Mr. Mornah studied and holds a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Shipping and Transport Management and Executive Business Administration (EBA) with specialisation in Materials and Logistics Management from Cambridge International College, UK. He also studied for a BA degree in Strategic Communication from the African University College of Communication.

In 2015, he was nominated by the Ghana Maritime Authority as part of Ghana’s Delegation to the ordinary and special sessions of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) General Assembly at the IMO headquarters in London.

Mr. Mornah also serves as media consultant to several institutions in the shipping industry

The former Oman FM Senior Broadcast Journalist and Head of English Desk will now be heading MyNewsGH.com’s Business Desk while leveraging his years of experience in close collaboration with our international partners to oversee the commencement of MyNewsGH.com’s soon-to-takeoff MyNewsGH TV and Radio.

He joined EIB in September 2015 first as Producer of Starr Fm’s flagship morning show, the Morning Starr before moving to the Komla Dumor Newsroom where he joined the business desk anchoring business brief. He started what is now known as Ghana’s only financial literacy programme on radio, Personal Finance Today, hosting the show every Saturday between 7 and 8 am.

Mr Mornah comes to his new role with a cumulative industry experience spanning 21 years having worked for various media houses in the country including Diamond FM in Tamale, Luv FM in Kumasi and Oman FM in Accra among others.

His new role at MyNewsGH.com mandates him to galvanize the vibrant and energetic team on the business desk to churn out compelling content covering all aspects of industry including banking and finance, telecommunication, mining, oil and gas, shipping and transportation as well as international trade

Commenting on his appointment and prospects with MyNewsGH.com, Mr Mornah said:‘’I am delighted to be joining the awesome team at MyNewsGH.com at this time of the company’s life when it has been recognised as the fastest growing online platform in the country. It is always a delight and a pleasure to join a team of focused, vibrant and results oriented men and women whose passion is to grow the brand. I am absolutely clear in my conviction that together we shall achieve more’’

Mr. Mornah is also the publisher and Managing Editor of the Maritime and Transport Digest Newspaper, a paper specialised in reporting in the Maritime industry.

His experience and expertise in reporting in the shipping industry spans almost a decade having anchored the first specialised bulletin for the shipping industry in Ghana on radio dubbed ‘’Maritime and Port News’’ on Oman FM, a local radio station in Accra for almost 8 years.

He went further to establish the first and only newspaper in Ghana solely dedicated to reporting in the Maritime industry in July 2013 and has reported widely on various sectors of the industry locally and internationally.

His appreciation of issues relating to the industry makes him the reference point among his peers who usually require one clarification or the other on matters relating to the industry and is considered a worthy addition to MyNewsGH Brand.
