He is known for using his hands to create music, but he’s proven to have ‘gifted hands’ for kneading and baking as well by switching to the bread business. Arguably the most successful music engineer in Ghana, Da Hammer of The Last Two fame has found a new love for bread selling.
After many years of cooking beats for musicians, He has put his music producing career on hold for a while to pursue his new passion of baking with the A1 Bakery.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb, CEO of The Last Two Music Group, Edward Nana Poku Osei, known in showbiz circles as Da Hammer, revealed that “I left the music scene ages ago, I stopped producing music in 2010, and I haven’t produced any song till now.”
Da Hammer who has partnered the owner of popular A1 bread, Godfred Obeng Boateng said he was involved in other businesses before venturing into bread selling recently.
According to Hammer, it will be better to invest in other businesses than to rely on just music since the music industry doesn't really make much money as people perceive it to be.
Enthused about his new business, Hammer said A1 Bread fetches him more money than music.
“I am making more money by selling A1 bread more than I do in music,” he said.
He advised the artistes and the youth to ditch their fears and pursue any venture they believe in rather than waiting on a hit song to survive.
Hammer is known for grooming some of the best Ghanaian Hip Hop or Hiplife artists, including Obrafour, Tinny, Kwaw Kese, Sarkodie, Ayigbe Edem, and others. As a producer, he is credited as one of the pioneers and key figures in the popularization of Hiplife or Hip Hop made in Ghana.
