An Islamic scholar has sparked controversy among Muslim women across the world stating the religion of Islam frowns on the refusal of women not to allow their husbands to sleep with them.
According to him, under no circumstance must a woman refuse to allow her husband perform his conjugal duties within any time of the day if he so chooses to, insisting that it is a grievous sin punishable by hellfire.
Nassim Abdi, a fundamentalist preacher maintained that deviant women would be cursed and bear the wrath thereof.
‘If the husband calls the wife to be intimate and there’s no legitimate reason for the woman to say no, then she must answer the call of her husband. She must answer the call of her husband and if not she has committed a major sin.
If the man calls the wife to bed and she refuses, the angels curse this woman and he sleeps with her whilst he’s angry, the angels curse her until she wakes up” The Preacher added.
His comments have attracted wide condemnation among feminists who they constitute incitement to commit a criminal offense: “if your wife doesn’t submit, then you still have the right to take her”, Macquarie University research professor Catharine Lumby, a gender adviser with the National Rugby League.
