Award winning Ghanaian rapper and songwriter M.anifest, has waded into the recent ‘beefs’ in the creative industry stating he doesn’t take things personal when asked on his view about the recent ‘beefs’ in the creative industry.

He however stated that competition can be encouraged but it shouldn’t get to destructive points even though that’s a marketing strategy with artists.

“So the truth of it is there is a marketing promotion thing that people are very well aware of, both artist, not just both artist but artist managers and other people. So I won’t lie to you I think people are aware and try to use that, so I don’t know which one is fake and which one is real but the truth of it is there’s nothing wrong about competitive rivalry but when there is a lot of negative rivalry and feel it too personal about it, it’s unnecessary ‘eno dey hia’”

Citing boxing as an example, he said even though people beat each other up at the end of the day, they shake hands and become friends. “We’re in a boxing arena right now, what do people love watching? People beat each other up in the ring and at the end of the night what happens? they shake hands. So competition is fine but if there’s personal problems, I think that needs to be resolved because then, there’s a lot of negativity”

According to him, he doesn’t believe in negativity but thinks competitive rivalry is something he will stand by since everyone likes completion. “I think I’m all about competitive rivalry, you know... when it gets too negative, I’m not with it. I don’t take things personally if it’s just competitive rivalry because people like competition.”

Meanwhile he urged artists to support each other especially female and upcoming artistes and not only artistes they 'know' and ‘like’. He is set to host the biggest M.anifestivities alongside big shots in music industry like Kwesi Arthur, Efya, B4Bonah, Simi from Nigeria and many others yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, M.anifestivities is scheduled for December 23 at 6pm with programmes such as rap and DJ battles, live performances to entertain patrons.
