Formed back in 1996 during their days as students of Kumasi High School, all the 3 members of defunct hiplife group Ancestors are all pastors now, Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture And Urban Entertainment News – www.nydjlive.com has learnt.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with NY DJ on #RYSENSHYNE on Y102.5FM in Kumasi, Lazy Dogg, a former member now known as Reverend Joel Agyemang Duah revealed his life is no different from the other members of the defunct group (Ancestors) as they have all turned to Christ working in various capacities in Ministry.

Asked if the decision to enter Ministry was borne out of inability to tag along with changes in the music industry, Lazy Dogg who has been in Ministry for 10 years revealed he entered God’s work at a time he had a very popular song and was playing gigs across the country.

“It was a calling from the Almighty. God has been so good. All the group members of Ancestors are ordained pastors now; Froggy, Yanky and myself are all ordained pastors now. “

He narrated how he had had various encounters with the Holy Spirit.

I Believe In God’s Appointed Time For Okomfour Kwadee – Former Hiplife Star Lazy Dogg “God has so many ways of calling people into his Ministry. Around 2007, I kept hearing voices that told me I would die if I don’t stay off all the things (womanising, alcohol, marijuana) I was doing. It kept sounding louder but I never paid attention till I got involved in a gory accident on my way from Sunyani after a show. The voice was so loud in my head that I eventually had to heed. I didn’t want to die…that’s how the journey started..”, he said.

Currently a branch pastor at the Gentle Ministry in Kumasi, Lazy Dogg is readying the release of a full Gospel album.

Years ago, Ancestors wowed the country with a number of hit songs including Yaa oo Yaa oo, Y3n Ko Da, Haado, Me Do Fo and many others.

Signed to Def Clan Records, the group released its debut album in 1997 and followed it with Resurrection of Ancestors album after 6 years of musical hiatus.
