Ghanaian rapper Emmanuel Kwesi Danso Arthur Junior, known in the entertainment industry as Kwesi Arthur, has appealed to the Nana Akufo-Addo-led government to create more jobs for the youth.

Although the government says it has employed some 100,000 young graduates through the Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo), Kwesi Arthur wants more jobs to be made available.

Given the opportunity to tell President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo anything on his heart on the Class Drive on Class91.3FM, Kwesi Arthur said: “I’ll just want him to create more [job] opportunities for the youth… I think the boys need more jobs”.

He continued: “…I know people with so much potential, I can mention five footballers that I know in my neighbourhood who could have done so much in playing football but unfortunately, things are not in the right place to even play football at the highest level…”

According to Kwesi Arthur, the government must create equal opportunities for every Ghanaian, adding that: “It shouldn’t be like if you don’t have money, you cannot do anything, it shouldn’t be like that”.

The ‘Don’t Keep Me Waiting’ hitmaker further urged the government to invest in young entrepreneurs.

“I think the government should also give money to entrepreneurs to set up their own businesses and pay later. I’m not saying that’s the best option but that will help in a certain way because I know people have business ideas but they don’t have the capital and when you go to the bank for a loan, that one too is something else…”
