Equator bar adds to nightlife of Accra

Accra Dec. 17, GNA - Golden Beach Hotels, operators of La palm Royal Beach Hotel, Elmina and Busua Beach Resorts on Friday re-launched the Equator Bar at La Palm Hotel in Accra to give people a relaxing evening after a hard day's work. The bar, which was closed down some months ago, has been revived and now hosts a sport bar, a discotheque and run a live band session.

Mr Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Modernization of the capital City, opening the bar noted that nightlife was an important aspect of human life and the re-birth of Equator bar would add to the nightlife of Accra. He said Tourism thrived on entertainment, relaxation and a friendly atmosphere and said Ghana needed a more vibrant entertainment industry to add to the tourism potentials of the country.

Mr. Kwame Young-Gyampoh, Chief Executive Officer of Golden Beach Hotels, said the management of the hotel decided to look at the Equator bar as a human entity, which needed to be repackaged to give an effective appeal. "In this day and age where normal hustle and bustle leaves many people unduly stressesd and tired, there is the need for one to get a cozy and serene place where one could easily download these moods," he added. He said there is an introduction of a "Happy Hour" which would be on Thursdays and Fridays between 1700 and 1900 hours.

Mr. Young-Gyampoh assured patrons of tight security and called on the public to patronize the equator bar, which promises the most pleasurable experience. "Every minute you spend at the bar will be a teaser of how heaven looks like," he held.
