Ghanaian Afro-beat artiste, Mr. Drew
Rising Afro-beat artiste, Mr. Drew, says the recent song theft allegations will not in any way affect his music career.
The "Dwe" hitmaker had his "Eat" single featuring Stonebwoy which happens to be a cover of Rotimi's Love Riddim taken down by Youtube over copyright issues.
But in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Drew looks to draw positives from the recent backlash and thrive his craft as a musician and a dancer.
"There is some dent in my career but it is all for the good and everything happens for a reason, some musicians have been through worse scenarios but people still enjoy their music. So I see it as part of a tough journey in my career.
"Musicians are allowed to do covers by passing through the right procedures but some people just want to twist the fact to dent your image,'' he said.
When asked about how the Coronavirus pandemic has affected his career, Mr. Drew said, "the Coronavirus situation has affected me so much because I felt this was the time for me to show people what I am made of, especially after my 'Hwe' hit song.
"We are now putting a lot of money in promoting our music just to hold the interest of music-loving fans.
"The future looks bright especially with soaring numbers on social media and people want to know what is going on with me and what am up to and that alone is a positive sign about the future."
Mr. Drew is currently promoting his new song titled ‘Later’ featuring Kelvynboy.
