RE: NPP ladies for Akuffo-Addo switches to Wereko-Brobbey

Mon, 3 Jun 2013 Source: Anane-Gyinde, Kwaku

Our attention has been drawn to a statement by a faceless group calling itself International Ladies Wing of International Women for Akuffo-Addo under the caption ‘NPP Ladies for Akuffo-Addo switches to Dr Wereko-Brobbey’ which appeared on the Modernghana website on June 2 2013.

Normally, NPP Germany does not respond to such mischievous publications aimed at diverting attention from real and substantive issues. However, we have decided to respond in order to set the records straight so that fiction does not become fact

After consultations with our compatriots in France, the Netherland, UK, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and Finland we can state categorically that such a group does not exist in any of the external branches of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP) Secondly, we would want to state emphatically that the author of the publication is not known to any of the external branches she referred to in the said publication. She is neither a supporter nor a sympathizer of the NPP and nowhere does her name appear in our records. In effect the author of this shameful publication is nothing but a criminally- minded imposter engaged in fabrications, misinformation and misrepresentations.

We are aware of the panic and desperation that have gripped our opponents and detractors who will do everything including the use of such crude, infantile and outmoded tactics to create confusion within the ranks of the NPP. Rather than be a cause of division, these inferior tactics have become a source of unity because they strengthen our resolve and determination to stand firmly behind the party leadership.

We wish to restate that the said publication is baseless and unfounded and as such should be ignored and treated with the contempt that it deserves. Finally, we would want to assure all party supporters, sympathizers and the leadership of our unwavering support for and approval of the decision by the three petitioners-Nana Akuffo-Ado, Dr Mahamuda Bawumia and Hon Jake Obetsebi Lamptey to go to court. We are convinced that this is the right cause of action and our position would not change despite the desperate and misguided attempts by Dr Wereko- Brobbey to suggest otherwise
