Legitimising the illegitimacy; the case of Christmas

CHRISTMAS TREESS Christmas is celebrated every year to remember the birth of Christ and its significance

In the beginning, God's purpose was to create mankind to fulfill the earth and worship Him [God]. We read this history from the Bible. Faithful servants who adhere to God commandments enjoyed happiness, blessings and forgiveness, and still waiting in the tomb for Perpetual blessings. We read about what the obstinate, recalcitrant and sinners reaped at last; They are still waiting for their everlasting destruction. Many of today's disobedient ones will be dumbed soon there also.

All these are written down for our perusal and benefit as the Bible said in ISAIAH 48: 17, 18; "This is what Jehovah says, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: "I, Jehovah, am your God, One teaching you to benefit yourself, the One guiding you in the way you should walk. 18 If only you would pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea."

Today every country's laws respect it's citizens rights especially when it comes to religion.

I can vividly say the predominant religion in the world is Christianity but it will be sarcastic to say 90% of churches are Christ followers. Most churches don't obey what the Bible says but misinterpret the word of God to benefit themselves and impose indirect fines (collections or offering) to their members and enjoys interim.

Greediness has created more divisions among themselves than Baobab branches.

In this write up, I will delve into what the Bible says where many Christians hypocritical acts have turn them to liberalism.

Their concocted big festival which they claim is the birthday of the Messiah Jesus Christ is been celebrated today. My question is , did Christ celebrate his birthday? Did he authorize his followers to celebrate it at all? And where at all from this Christmas celebration? Should true followers of Christ celebrate same?

In time, the hidden rot and the hypocritical behavior of Christianity shall be expose. I don't have any judgmental mindset but I prefer reasoning with intellectuals rather than imposing something on them which may not be democratic.

Let's first of all, consider the circumstances surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ.

There is no where in the Bible that tells us Jesus was born on December 25. Therefore, it gives us sound reason to conclude that his birth did not take place in December.

Let's Consider the weather conditions at the time of the year in Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. The Jewish month of Chislev that corresponds to November/December was a month with cold and rainy weather. The month after that was Tebeth (December/January). It saw the lowest temperatures of the year, with occasional snows in the highlands. Let us see what the Bible tell us about the climate of that region.

Luke, one of the apostle of Jesus recorded that when Christ was born, “shepherds [were] living out of doors” minding their flocks. (Luke 2:8-11) If “living out of doors” had been their habit year round, that would not have been noteworthy. However, because Bethlehem is subject to cold rains and snow, flocks were wintered under cover and shepherds would not have been “living out of doors.” Additionally, Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem because Caesar Augustus had ordered a census.

One Bible writer called Ezra shows that Chislev was indeed a month known for cold and rainy weather. After stating that a crowd had gathered in Jerusalem “in the ninth month (Chislev), on the 20th day of the month,” Ezra reports that people were “shivering.. all because of the heavy rain.” Concerning weather conditions. During that time of the year, the congregation themselves said: “It is the rainy season. It is not possible to stand outside.” (Ezra 10:9, 13) No wonder shepherds living in that part of the world made sure that they and their flocks were no longer out of doors at night when December came around!

After the death of the apostles, the then Christians began adopting pagan customs, celebrations and "holy days". Such celebrations does not reflect the spirit of God, but that of the world as the hall mark of "Babylon the great". It seeks to promote false religious belief and spiritism. Surprisingly, that's what Christians are portraying. Hypocrisy!!

The roots of Christmas are found, not in Scripture, but in ancient pagan festivals, such as the Roman Saturnalia, a celebration dedicated to Saturn, the god of agriculture. Also according to their reckoning, devotees of the god Mithra celebrated December 25 as the “birthday of the invincible sun,” “Christmas originated at a time when the cult of the sun was particularly strong in Rome,” about three centuries after the death of Christ.

During the ceremony of saturnalia, pagans exchanged gifts so then Christians saw that the pagans' were stealing the heart of Christ followers so they adopted same to replace it with the birth of Jesus Christ naming 25th December, as the birth of Christ and 26 as the concocted gifting day (BOXING DAY) where they claim they give out to people, as the Magi gifted Jesus when he was born. Is this fair?

Hypocrisy is when one speak against pagan worship but adopt their customs, celebration and "holy days".

Are they not legitimizing the illegitimacy?

I now understand why Jesus said at Mathew 7:21-23 "Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will ... And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!"

So, a time will come people will refer him to what they concocted, skewed and fabricated to his birth day and there he will snob them telling them he doesn't know them...

Hmm!!! A word to a wise is enough.

If we are truly worshipping God, let's worship God wholeheartedly not partially and I believe our blessings are already prepared. Blessings are awaiting those who can stand firmly to the end. Let's note that, the interim Christmas happiness will end you in "Gehenna" hence let's put a stop if we want everlasting happiness.

Isn't dishearten to revive and enliven what we preach against (Pagans customs, celebrations etc)?

You don't need any prophet to tell you that, Christmas celebrators will perish during the judgment day.

No Christian will be excited to be called a worshiper of idols but we camouflage their festivals and adopt same for Christ.

Let's bare in mind if we deny God, he will also deny us.

I am by this epistle supplicating my opinion to all noble Christians to study the Bible and listen to God rather than listening to their Clergy. This reminds me of Jimi Hendrix quote "Knowledge speaks but wisdom listen"

The apostle peter said in Act 5:29 "We must obey God as ruler rather than men".

I want to pause with this William Shakespeare's quote "Everyone ought to bear patiently the results of his own conduct".

Please wait I will be with you in a jiffy.

I have no intent to capsize a busy Christmas pot.

#God bless and leads us all to the best in life.
