A National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist, Delanyo Agbe, has called on his party members to cease criticizing the Supreme Court's recent ruling on parliamentary seats.

In an exclusive statement, Agbe emphasized the importance of respecting the judiciary's independence, citing the NDC's role in drafting the 1992 Constitution.

"The Supreme Court has a constitutional mandate to carry out its duties. We must recognize its authority and refrain from undermining democracy," Agbe stressed.

He cautioned that the NDC's reactions could have future implications, potentially haunting the party when they return to power.

"Instead of criticizing the Supreme Court, let's focus on winning the upcoming election through massive campaigns," Agbe urged.

Agbe's plea comes amidst the NDC's vocal opposition to the Supreme Court's ruling, which declared four parliamentary seats vacant.

NDC, Let's Respect the Supreme Court's Mandate

As an NDC activist, I'm compelled to urge my fellow party members to reassess their stance on the recent Supreme Court ruling. Lambasting the court's decision may have unintended consequences. It's crucial to recognize the Supreme Court's constitutional mandate to carry out its duties, as enshrined in the 1992 Constitution - a document our party had a significant hand in drafting.

Respect for the Judiciary

The Supreme Court's independence is a cornerstone of our democracy. By questioning its authority, we potentially undermine the very foundations of our governance system. Instead, let's focus on the democratic processes that have been put in place to ensure fairness and justice.

A Word of Caution

Our reactions today will be remembered tomorrow. Future presidents from our party will also rely on the Supreme Court's impartiality. Let's not create a precedent that may haunt us in the future. Our utterances can be used against us, and it's essential to consider the long-term implications.

Rather than investing energy in criticizing the Supreme Court, let's redirect our efforts towards a massive campaign to win the upcoming election. By doing so, we'll demonstrate our commitment to democratic principles and strengthen our chances of success.

Let's contribute to building a robust and independent judiciary. By respecting the Supreme Court's decisions, we foster an environment conducive to growth and improvement. This approach will ultimately benefit our country and our party in the long run.

In 2020, our party committed to peace after the Supreme Court's verdict. Let's uphold that commitment and work towards a harmonious, democratic Ghana.

The Way Forward

Focus on Campaigning by Channeling our energy into winning the election.

Respect the Judiciary by Acknowledging the Supreme Court's constitutional mandate.

Build a Better Judiciary by Contributing to an independent and robust judiciary.

By embracing this approach, we'll demonstrate maturity, strengthen our democratic institutions, and emerge stronger as a party.

Long Live Ghana!
