The New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2016 Campaign Manager, Mr Peter Mac Manu has revealed that the party deliberately and strategically decided not to make the location of its National Collation Centre public during the December 7 elections.

According to him, the NPP which attached all seriousness to the just ended elections, couldn’t have disclosed the location of its all important installation which were critical for the party’s victory in the polls, citing security concerns.

Mr Joe Anokye, a Telecommunications engineering service manager at NASA, the US space agency who was made the Technology Director of the NPP 2016 Campaign Team was tasked by party before the elections to devise a system that could help them to collate their own results.

The NPP though the hard work of its collation centre was able to predict victory for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo eight hours after the close of poll, much to the shock of a large section of the public.

This was at a time the Electoral Commission appeared not to have the full data needed at the national level as results were still trickling in from across the 275 Constituencies.

In an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr FM Wednesday, Mr Peter Mac Manu stated that the NPP decision to conceal the location of its collation centre was guided by an incident in an East African Country.

“Many people didn’t seem to know where we were located because we have an experience of Tanzania where a political party was doing its para-collation was raided. We were mindful of these kind of things in other countries so we were not too open until later we called in the media and observers to come and see and then rightly they said…oh you’ve done well.”
