Rejoinder-Friends Of Dr Spio Gabrah

Sat, 8 Aug 2015 Source: Naziru, Alhaji Mohammed

Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous press statement which started circulating on social media and later found its way on the news portal of Modern Ghana and Ghanaweb to the effect that Friends of Spio Garbrah are disappointed in the proposed dates for both Presidential and parliamentary primaries of the NDC.

We wish to bring to the attention of the leadership of the NDC and our party sympathizers that the supposed Press Statement which started circulating on the Facebook walls of Kuuku Spencer, Nana Asem Bi Nti, Yaw Marvin and host of known NPP members did not in any moment come from any known member of Friends of Spio Garbrah.

We wish to state categorically that the names indicated as signatories to the press statement have never been part of the Friends of Spio Garbrah since the formation of the group in 2006 until the group became defunct in 2009. It is interesting to note that the signatories to the statement do not even exist on Facebook if by their own admission are Friends of the Hon. Minister. The contact number 0242065038 used in the statement is also not valid which discerning Ghanaians can cross-check.

While we entreat all members of the NDC to disregard this faceless individuals seeking to create tension between the hardworking Minister of Trade and Industry and the NDC, we also admonish our party sympathizers to support His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in his pursuit of changing lifes through the transformational agenda.

We must all be reminded that Dr. Ekwow Spio Grabrah has on several platforms indicated his inestimable support for President Mahama and has continually stressed that it is folly and an irrationality for anyone to try contest the President considering the unprecedented social and infrastructural transformations that are ongoing in the country. Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah serving on the various committees of the party namely Communication Committee, Political Committee and as Chairman of the Business Development Committee respects the decision of the national executives led by National Chairman Dr. Kofi Portuphy.

We wish to state emphatically that Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah has no knowledge or familiarity of such irresponsible and despicable acts by some who may not be even NDC party sympathizers. Security agencies have been informed by the Office of the Hon. Minister to investigate the identity and the source of this mischievous press statement and are confident state securities will unravel the faceless enemies of the NDC seeking to disturb the current peace and unity in the NDC .
