A senior police officer at the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) in a viral video circulating on social media is seen addressing MTTD officers to change their attitude towards their work.
In the video, he explained that police officers are first civilians before officers hence the need to respect the people they serve.
He continued that, police officers are tagged with several names because of their poor attitude towards the work they do.
The police officer further revealed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) is trying to make some reforms to change the “negative attitude” the (MTTD) has been tagged with.
Earlier in the year, some police officers have been involved in several shenanigans which have contributed to their bad publicity.
In June, a video of a heavily drunk police hoisting a riffle in a commercial vehicle emerged on Facebook.
Later in the same month, five police officers left a private citizen traumatized after he was arrested on the basis of possessing wee, just to extort money from him.
To further defame their image, another police officer was filmed brutally abusing a nursing mother in a banking hall in July.
