And, as ECOWAS citizens, we should question our leadership on the equity and common sense of punishing civilian populations for "the sins" of juntas.

Trading between nation is "give and take". While their exit is not acceptable, it is their choice. The fact is, Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso are all "landlocked" and that is going to bite them hard. Leaders of these countries should reconsider their position and come back to the trading block.

Yesterday, an article appeared on the internet that Niger had defaulted on its obligation, and these are some of the signs that governance is not about coups but deep-thinking management.

WHAT HAS ECOWAS SAID OR DONE ABOUT THE "COUP" IN SENEGAL? WHAT WILL BE THEIR RESPONSE SHOULD THERE BE A COUP TOMORROW IN SENEGAL SINCE THE PRESIDENT HAS VOWED AND EVEN WARNED ECOWAS NOT TO MEDDLE IN HIS NATION'S AFFAIRS. NOT UNTIL ECOWAS DECIDE TO DO THAT WHICH IS RIGHT AND STOP DOING THINGS TO HELP THE WEST, ECOWAS WILL DIE A SHAMEFUL DEATH. I don't think we should dwell on these countries a lot, but my advice is that we should encourage our youth to go into farming and start planting Onions, Tomatoes, Scotch Bonnet(very hot pepper), Aubergine (Garden eggs),Avocados, Jack Fruits, Water Melons, lime and lemons. Ghana is so blessed with fertile lands and we still import Tomatoes and Onions from these countries including Italy. The Youth want to travel to Italy and work on the Tomatoe Farms, but the won't do the same in Ghana.
They will rather do Galamsay and spoil our farm lands. My advice to the Gov't is to give incentives or Scholarships to Agric Students, The Bawumia Gov't should make it more attractive to entice the youth into farming.

VFCP divinely asks Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger to withdraw their exit request and once again look into the root cause of the crisis and find sustainable solutions. The Divine Question is Why did Ecowas and the 3 countries get here? The answer was and is Civilian Administration vs Military Rule of which it is the mixture of democratization. Democracy is not the answer to Africa's socio-economic development and Military Rule is not the answer to Africa's leadership. Therefore, how should Africa draw the balance between the Civilian Administration and Military Rule? These institutions of the leadership spectrum are foreign to Africa. Democracy is foreign and Military Rule is foreign. None of these institutions is Africanism.
1. Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger said, "Ecowas under the influence of foreign powers." Democracy and Military Rule were brought to Africa by foreign powers. There is no justification.
2. Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger said, Ecowas is "Betraying its founding principles." The system needs reform to redefine leadership in an African context.
3. Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger said, Ecowas "Threat to its member states." The division among member states is a threat to Bilateral and Unilateral cooperation which can affect socio-economic development in the Ecowas region.
The Way Forward:
1. Put people, businesses, the economy, health, safety, and security first.
2. The Ecowas, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger must return to the Peace Talks.
3. The African Union Commission must get involved.
Conclusion:
The implementation of the United States of Africa must not be jeopardized.
The visa-free initiatives are good for Africa.
Leadership must be defined in the African context.
Peace, prosperity, development, and the care of the environment must become a priority of the member state's concern in this Golden Era.

If a country is going through economic hardships , there should be a dialogue to solve that problem democratically , but not through the barrel of the gun.

The Islamic State army that they trained, armed and military supported with air support to bombed countries in the Middle East and North Africa took over Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and Northern part of Mali.
ECOWAS with Nigeria as its leader did not lift a finger to protect the marauding ISIS into the Magrieb.
Nigeria itself seems to be happy about the Boko Haram terrorist acts in that country, as it went in line with the NATO sanctions against her, which prevented her from buying arms from elsewhere to fight the Islamic terrorist acts in that country.
The irony is that whiles Boko Haram is trained by the west and armed by it, it pretends to be against the west.
It was obvious that NATO trained, armed and military supported the Islamic terrorists to recolonize Africa, as a British citizens said just last week that Europe and the imperialist world need to recolonize Africa.
The military which was fighting the terrorists without support from elsewhere decided to overthrow their very governments who did not want to call spade a spade, but an instrument for digging.
Just like Libya and Syria who invited Russia to protect them against NATO and their ISIS puppets, Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso decided to follow the footsteps of Syria and Libya.
It is on record that when there was civil war in Liberia ECOWAS formed ECOMOG to bring peace among the waring factions in Liberia.
However in this case when some West African countries were attacked by foreign forces ECOWAS did nothing about it.

Don't also underestimate capacity for those landlocked countries to survive and the potential for them to limit their dependencies on seaports. Their economies will become resilient. Besides, they can now go to any length to employ and deploy any means to fight the terrorists and drive them to our backyards. Think deep.
