  Mahama to build a National Team with local players makes sense and is economical for Ghana. Ghanaian international players expect huge money to be given to them whenever they are invited to play for the Black Stars. Meanwhile, they don't perform as international players. Local players are ready to sacrifice and market themselves. Local players would appreciate whatever the government will give them and play for the country wholeheartedly. John Mahama is right, only enemies to progress from Kwame Nkrumah's will oppose his idea.

  Ordinarily, I don't usually comment on unintelligent articles like this. But I am doing this because it's obvious you need to be educated. Do you know the difference between home grown players and locally based players? If you did, you would not have embarrassed yourself like this. By home grown players the MIGHTY JM means players born in Ghana will be given massive infrastructural facilities to enhance their potentials to make them as good as those born abroad. They can go on to play in foreign leagues and come back to play for the black stars, but they are home grown. This is instead of looking around the world to get any foreign born player with Ghanaian background to play for us where there is zero passion and patriotism. All France players are home grown, but most of them play in England, Spain, Germany etc etc. The NPP propagandists need to learn.

  Abass, why trying to rationalise the unintelligent and myopic views of the former president? How does he build the national team with home based players when our league is dead and every single player's dream is to move out for better conditions. Now the teams outside especially in Europe come for the younger ones which is less expensive. The former prez should not think that by unintelligently following the crowd he will win votes. The writer is right by informing him that people are discerning and will interrogate any huhudious promises to hoodwink voters.
