  VRA has stood the test of time. It is one industry that if handed over to a private entity, the country would be back to the precolonial era. What is VRA competent engineers and senior mgmt doing that is wrong? Ask the govt to engage VRA to up their game if something is lacking. This opinion is not new, as in many cases, GCB and other strategic VITAL state institutions has once or many times been asked to tow that line. Keep VRA on the govt side and suggest ways to fix it, not privatize. What happened to many other viable privatized industries since independence? Privatization is good in many cases, but sometimes privatization is a slippery road to economic mess and external control of the economy.

  A shameless open invitation for the state to agree to being scammed for private profit! Ghana is the only country where capitalists don't use their own money or acquire private financing to start businesses. Always loot the state and become fabulously rich while the employees struggle. We've had enough Kennedy Agyapongs, Woyomes and Konadu Rawlingses. Use your own damn capitalist money or get financing from a bank, a venture capitalist or any other source and leave the state assets alone! All sectors of the economy must be developed: Private, State, Cooperative, Communitarian, and any combination of the all these! No more robbery and scams under the silly mantra of private enterprise is the engine of growth and propertied democracy.

Because the existence of the VRA thermal plants serves as a benchmark for all to see how he and his chinese investors are ripping off this country.
