  Massa, Asantehene is also Kumasi paramount chief. Asante Kingdom collapsed and became a British colony in 1901. I do not know when "asante kingdom" was restored. In 1935 the British established the indirect rule policy and used Prempeh II as it's chairman while the British still controlled the entire territory of Ghana. The KING of Great Britain and later the Queen were the sovereign monarchs of the Gold coast and No Kingdom was recognized in the Goldcoast. Ghana became a repuplic , 3 years after our independence on 1st July, 1960. Hence, there's No Kingdom in the REPUBLIC of Ghana. Arcticle 57 clause 1-3 states the President, vice, speaker of parliament and the chief justice shall have precedence over all other persons in Ghana including over your so called King, who's actually a ceremonial leader and chairman of Asanteman council. There's no King in Ghana.
