An interesting exchange occurred during Ghana's independence the then parliament, known as the legislative council, transferred headship from the English Crown to the People of Ghana a seismic event in my opinion, in that whereas the English Crown was a capable hand to exercise supervision and control of the Assembly the same couldn't be said about the Locals who now filled their shoes, so the Politician got a blank cheque the results is what we have today
