  I think the whole think has to do with an attempt to ridicule Fantes. There's this age old joke about Fante prisoners of war captured by Asantes during the Fante-Asante wars. They say the Asante soldiers didn't have to be physically present at the POW camp. They only left a gun at the exit of prison. The 'dim witted' Fante POW would then tell the gun 'magya etur, m'entu mbo me ai, m'erokwoswankye m'aaba'. Mr. Gun don't shoot me, I am am going to urinate and come.
