  Dr. Tagoe, this is very well written. We often discuss and casually complain that while the NSMQ theoretical based competition is valuable, it could be even more impactful if enhanced with a practical component or complemented by a more hands-on competition for Ghana.

Given our current development stage, we need our sharpest brains to create and innovate solutions and interventions to propel our growth and development. The investment and preparations that alumni associations, organisations, and schools dedicated to the NSMQ, as well as the additional focus (note: not a total shift), will go a long way to helping us get our young ones to realise the agency needed.   While well-intentioned, how does one incorporate a 1-2 hour practical work into a live quiz program?
  What would the viewers be doing within that time?
  That would really be boring.
  The quiz is meant to address a particular challenge and definitely cannot do all things.
  Its also the reason why there is the STEM festival which is the very practical component of the quiz which is often hosted at academic city College.
  Other competitions also exist including stem novation, robotics etc. The quiz can't be all things. It's one thing and I belive it's serving it's purpose.
