Kwame Nkrumah may have gone to the extremes in his bid to protect himself and not end up as the great Patrice Lumumba.
It is worthy to note that all these leaders of new born republics had the most disadvantage of facing oppositions of the most cruelest and powerful from the west and elsewhere.Also to note these powers have the ability to control the international market to their will.
To appreciate the challenges that this man face one needs to be a patriot of their country.
Whilst some of his fellow politicians supposedly brothers in arms for independence were getting paid by the CIA etc in his death Kwame Nkrumah bequeathed everything he owned to nation and party.
