  Why my name now? I don't expect a complete topic. I understand why it's called "useless column " jumping jumping saa.
  I think I agree with my little girl, Cape Coast is really not in the center of the Ghana map ampa.

  Don't get it wrong, Mawuli Zogbenu. A little more knowledge of Ghana's history would have afforded you the opportunity to tell your daughter the truth. The Central Region is so called because, during the colonial days, the Gold Coast crown colony (as it was then known) was made up of only the coastal regions of present-day Ghana. It excluded Ashanti (present-day Ashanti, Bono, and Ahafo), the Northern Territories protectorate (Upper East, Upper West, Savannah, North East, and Northern Regions), and the British Togoland trust territory (mainly made up of Oti and Volta Regions). It was before Ghana gained its independence that all these units were joined together to form one unitary state known as Ghana.

Nonetheless, many changes have taken place over the period to the extent that we now have 16 regions with some new names. Sir Jones, inasmuch as I agree with your knowledge in the area, I was actually expecting you to have made suggestions to the possible change of name of the Region after all the other geographical areas you mentioned have now been made a part of all of Ghana. Even the name Gold Coast had changed. I do not think that the 7 year old Genz girl's position is wrong. these ones now think beyond things we never thought about when we were at their age. Sadly even now, they seem to be ahead in many questions we failed to look for answers to.

  If the Gold Coast did not include Ashanti, Northern, and Volta regions, before the Gold Coast became Ghana, when did the Ashanti, Northern, and Volta regions join the Gold Cost to become independent Ghana? Were these three regions part of the fight to gain independence for the emergent Ghana or they joined after the struggle had convinced the British to grant independence to the Gold Goast?
