  I think your piece is about blaming Christianity, in particular, for the woes of Africa. The claim that is religion, generally, was not well articulated. Islam may not have prosperity preaching Imams but they also contributed to God will provide attitude.
  
  I don't know what you will say about our traditional religions. They don't particularly preach prosperity messages and don't exactly tell you to leave everything in the hands of the gods.
  
  What do you think would have happened if Christianity and Islam had not so successfully supplanted our traditional religions?
  
  The physical conditions of our existence have been mentioned, at times, in the development literature. It doesn't really have much traction. But it is good you qualified it by saying that it is just one of the causes...

  The problem is not Christianity. Go back in time you can see Christianity actually was a savior in many ways. The African believe system is what is holding us down. We are not ready to give up and acquire new knowledge to better our existence. Superstations in the African believe system hold us captive mixing this with Christianity creating a new believe system. Now we have the Voo-dun Christianity everywhere you look around you.

  Please do you remember Christian council members went to one mining site to pray for galamsay to stop? Christianity has stopped us from thinking wright. We are made to know that our treasure is in heaven and that God will do everything for us if only we worship him well. There are people who do not worship God like we do in Africa but these people are doing well economically than us even though we are naturally resourced than them. What do you thing is the reason why. We need to change our mindset as a people and do the wright thing.

  Europeans have been to Africa in the 1960s up to 1990s telling us that coconut oil is not good for consumption. Joe Biden told African leaders that if they don't buy second hand clothing and does not involve their citizens in homosexuality he will not give them aids.
  Christians sold everything they brought to Africa to us and we bought them with our money, they were not for free.

  It's sad how and who we are as Africans. Africa allows everything bad to be seen as part of life, including stupidity, lack of reasoning and laziness.
