  Agile wasn't designed for the informal sector. The daily stand-up meetings alone will chase most people away. Think Lean or Theory of Constraints. They are both better for this environment.

  Sure. I am about to release a book where I dissect Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints, making them accessible and useful for Ghana's environment.
  
  1. 5S is a handy tool. Start there.
  2. Theory of Constraints-Use the 5 focusing steps to identify and manage constraints and bottlenecks.
  3. A quick Value Stream Analysis (Lean tool) will help anyone identify the steps that add value and the ones that are wasteful.
  4. TaktT (another TOC tool) is useful to help those who output is customer-driven.

  Being agile is not applicable in all business cases.
  In a place like Ghana, it is worth pursuing. To say "agile has been rejected by every thinking Quality Guru" is a big fact untrue.
  
  I am a PM and SM and you cannot through out the essence of being agile in the corporate world. The increase in productivity, accountability, transparency, responsiveness, quality is very evident.
  
  In a place like GH, where we hate to plan, procrastinate, and eyeball the effort involved in getting things done, I believe being agile is one of the best ways to enhance our productivity. Our environment is uncertain and sometime our goals are also not very clear.
  
  If agile fails, you need to find out if going agile was a good the appropriate step and also in the chosen framework fitted the circumstance. Most agile initiatives also fail because the gate keepers and relevant stakeholders are of "traditional methodologies" back ground and are not ready to adopt to the changes that agility calls for: they love micromanaging!
  
  Lets talk more about being agile!!
