Can chiefs really help build Ghana or are they just keeping tradition alive?

  YES !!! Our CHIEFS can really build GHANA. Most of our problems started with some of our “Half baked politicians “, smart and confused guys from Royal Families calling themselves politicians . OfCourse , there were governments by our Chiefs before the arrival of the Colonial powers. The Colonial powers knew or accepted or acknowledged this by using the powers or AUTHORITIES of our Chiefs . Most of the Paramount Chiefs had their own police departments , courts and even Prisons at a time when most of the Chiefs couldn’t even Read or Write. Now , we have some extremely Educated Chiefs right across the entire system of government. Right from the classrooms , military , police, judiciary etc. Unfortunately , characters of all types have infiltrated our Royal Stools.

  Chieftaincy is useless in today's Ghana. Most of them exist solely to fuel tribal tensions amongst the people (because every chief in Ghana is based on a tribe). The worst part is that they are custodians of the land and are responsible for selling it galamseyers. They supported slave trade. They allowed it to happen. They are not changing anytime soon...

  Keeping the tradition alive is possible when we believe in our self
  speak and write our own language. The Kings can really help build Nation.
