  I MET TWO AMERICANS AT THE HARVARD UNIVERSITY, IN THE USA. WHILE I WAS CONVERSING WITH ANOTHER GHANAIAN, WHO WAS INTERACTING ENGLISH WORDS IN OUR COVERSATION, WHILE WE WERE SPEAKING TWI LANGUAGE. IN COURSE THE OTHER GHANAIAN'S SENTENCES, ONE OF THE AMERICAN FRIENDS INTERRUPTED US AND ASKED US(GHANAIANS) THIS QUESTION; "PLEASE I WANT TO ASK YOU A QUESTION. THEN WE SAID; "OH, GO ON." THE HE SAID; "WHILE YOU(THE TWO GHANAIANS) WERE CONVERSING, I REALISED THAT YOU WERE USING ENGLISH WORDS INTERTWINED WITH YOUR LOCAL SENTENCES. SO DON'T YOU HAVE YOUR OWN LOCAL WORDS FOR SUCH SENTENCES IN YOUR LANGUAGE." ? IT WAS A BIG INSULT AND A DISGRACE FOR US, ESPECIALLY ME. NEVERTHELESS, I ANSWERED HIM NICELY. I SAID TO HIM, THE AMERICAN, THAT, IT WAS BECAUSE OF COLONIZATION THAT IS WHY SOME AFRICANS SPEAK AS SUCH, ESPECIALLY GHANAIANS AND NIGERIANS IN PARTICULAR.
