Hair lice and the smell from poorly maintained hair can be disturbing. We haven't reached the stage where we keep boys and girls with long hair in mind when considering the conditions in many of our schools. We still have issues with water and electricity. Let us not blindly copy the West when water, electricity, washing soap, and sanitary pads are provided to schools for free. Who will check on these teenagers whose parents struggle to care for them and keep their hair well-groomed? Is the time for learning even enough for them? What about the military, police, CEPS, immigration, and fire service training schools? Let us respect the rules and teach our kids to do the same. EVEN SOME ADULTS HAVE VERY SMELLY HAIR AND BRAIDS WITH HAIR LICE.

I think you are seriously missing the point. You can restrict the styles that people do and still let them maintain their hair. Boys naturally look neat when they cut their hair, but God gave ladies long hair for a reason. Cutting and shaving off their hair is not necessarily the BEST or ONLY way to discipline them! It's one of the laziest approaches I've ever imagined!! They can still plait their hair like corn roll or other decent ways, or keep the hair combed uniformly and well held with clips or other hair tools. The girls need to know how to keep their natural hair so they can grow up being responsible for their hair as well. That in itself is also a lesson on discipline! How to keep your God-given hair responsibly!!! THERE IS NO NEED TO CUT THEIR HAIR!!! THAT IS A COLONIAL MENTALITY AND IT DEMORALIZES THE GIRLS!!! Can't we think better in this country in 2025 for ONCE!!??

As a child in the primary school in my village in the late 1950s and early 1960 I remember how our teachers though us to keep our hair cut, clean and without lices in them.
Those days there were not enough tooth paste. So the teacher went further to teach us how to clean our teeth. The thing that they thought us to use was a twig from a nim tree.
We go behind our bedroom look for that particular twig of a nim tree, break it, remove the back and pesto we clean our teeth.
Those were the day of the Tokeos, that teachers don't want pupil to come to school with.
So we cut our hair, without any style.
It was a beautiful sight to see.
