Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta
Dear critical reader, as one of the first Ghanaian media professionals to write publicly demanding the sacking of Ken Ofori-Atta from his position as finance minister - at a time when the received wisdom across the media landscape was that he was a brilliant finance minister taking Ghana along a path that would place it beyond aid - one isn't surprised at the turn of events in faraway Virginia in the US, from where Ken Ofori-Atta, now in ICE custody, is hoping against hope that he won't be extradited to Ghana for prosecution and finally held accountable for his actions and inactions during his tenure as finance minister in the Akufo-Addo era.
Looking back, it's amazing how the Akyem Mafia made such a huge error of judgment and miscalculated terribly in underestimating the good people of Ghana.
They began by implementing their revisionist agenda to impose Dr J B Danquah on Ghanaians as a nationalist hero, to belittle the memory of President Nkrumah - although the reality was that Danquah was a paid agent of Western intelligence agencies - whom they claimed was a genius whose cognitive powers were unequalled, and who more or less solely fashioned the strategic plan and agenda to rid Ghana of the colonialists who had occupied the Gold Coast colony and regain our independence as free self-governing Africans.
Ditto laser-focusing on planning sundry rolling grifter-schemes to pillage our nation's assets, as if they had conquered Ghana in winning the presidency in the 2016 election cycle and were thus entitled to the victor's spoils of conquest.
Now they have finally been hoisted on their collective petard; the chickens are coming home to roost, as their perfidies are exposed and possible jail time stares them in the face.
They forgot that power is fleeting and that not all people can be permanently fooled.
They deserve what's coming to them for disgracing us Akyems with their unfathomable greed and infernal arrogance while in power for those eight long years.
Sadly, in the end, they succeeded spectacularly in bankrupting our national economy - doing so egregiously through callousness and sheer greed, plain and simple. Sods. Tweaaaaaaaaaa...
Finally, some humble advice: With the greatest respect, if they want concrete results, those of our compatriots now picketing the US Embassy in Ghana, to demand the extradition of Ken Ofori-Atta, would be wise to livestream their protest too online on X, as well as other far-right US online platforms (Carlson Tucker's comes to mind, lol), and media outlets such as Fox news - as the outrage that will cause in MAGA circles, will definitely lead to his swift deportation to Ghana from America.
The US Embassy here is soundproofed inside, so their musical picketing won't affect them one bit, lol.
A word to the wise...
