  At the time NPP was paying GHS3,600 NDC promised to pay GHS6,000 but are now paying GHS2,587. This promise was made in reference to the prevailing conditions at the time the promise was made. One of such condition was that, Global Cocoa price was by then very high. Now, levels don change. The Global cocoa price has reduced drastically, so NDC has resorted to paying GHS2,587 instead of the GHS6,000 they promised. How does the NPP UK communicator expect the NDC to cough out the difference of GHSGHS3,413 to make up the GHS6,000 as the global Cocoa price has currently reduced drastically? At least, we thank the NDC for not yet imposing Cocoa price reduction levy on us unlike the NPP which imposed Covid 19 levy on us. To the NPP UK communicator's information, Ivory Coast has also reduced prices paid to their Cocoa farmers just because of the Global price reduction.

  The sudden surge of NPP foot soldiers and communicators addressing the Cocoa issue, along with the flurry of press conferences in these early days of 2026, is a clear testament to the party's messaging bankruptcy in Ghana. The NPP's image is so severely bruised that they believe they can exploit any issue to salvage their reputation with Ghanaians. However, the reality is that most of the challenges we face today stem from the incompetence of the individuals Nana Addo appointed to key agencies, including the Cocoa Board. We are fully aware of this and will continue to hold the NPP accountable for mismanaging every sector of our economy during their time in power.
